Bezafibrate (Bezafibrate)

Overview of Bezafibrate

Bezafibrate is anti-hyperlipidimic agent. Bezafibrate is used to reduce high blood fats and cholesterol levels.

Indication of Bezafibrate

Bezafibrate is primarily indicated in conditions like Hypercholesterolaemia, Prophylaxis of NSAID-associated gastric or duodenal ulcer.

Contraindication of Bezafibrate

Bezafibrate is contraindicated in conditions like Renal failure,Liver cirrhosis,Nephrotic syndrome,Hypoalbuminaemia.

Side Effects of Bezafibrate

The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Bezafibrate are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Nausea, GI distention, Myositic syndrome.

Precautions of Bezafibrate

Bezafibrate should not be given to patients with severe liver or kidney impairment, primary biliary cirrhosis, gallstone or gallbladder disorder or hypoalbuminaemic state.
