Tinidazole is antimicrobial agent. Tinidazole is used for prevention of post-operative anaerobic and acute gum infections.
Indication of Tinidazole
Tinidazole is primarily indicated in conditions like Abdominal surgery prophylaxis, Acute leukemia, Amoebiasis, Anaerobic infections, Giardiasis, NSAID-associated ulceration, Prophylaxis of acid aspiration in obstetric patients, Trichomoniasis, Upper gastro-intestinal and breast cancer.

Side Effects of Tinidazole
Tinidazole produces potentially life-threatening effects which include Hypotension, Dyspnea, Bronchospasm, Facial edema, Laryngeal edema. which are responsible for the discontinuation of Tinidazole therapy.,The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Tinidazole are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Headache, Nausea, Vomiting, Urticaria, Thrombophlebitis, Metallic taste.
Precautions of Tinidazole
Tinidazol should be used with caution in patients with any allergy. Avoid use during pregnancy or lactation. Avoid alcoholic beverages while taking this medication as severe stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, headache and flushing can occur.
