Nitrendipine (Nitrendipine)
Overview of Nitrendipine
A calcium channel blocker with marked vasodilator action. It is an effective antihypertensive agent and differs from other calcium channel blockers in that it does not reduce glomerular filtration rate and is mildly natriuretic, rather than sodium retentive.
Indication of Nitrendipine
Nitrendipine is primarily indicated in conditions like Mild to moderate hypertension.
Contraindication of Nitrendipine
Nitrendipine is contraindicated in conditions like Hypotension,Aortic stenosis,Hypersensitivity to any component of product.
Side Effects of Nitrendipine
The signs and symptoms that are produced after the acute overdosage of Nitrendipine include Bradycardia, Confusion, Hyperglycemia, myocardial depression.,The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Nitrendipine are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Dizziness, Headache, Fatigue, Nausea, Palpitation, Flushing, Edema, Gingival hyperplasia, vasodialation.
Precautions of Nitrendipine
Reduce dosage in elderly; use with caution in patients with liver insufficiency, digital ischemia, nonobstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, or in combination with beta-blocking agents. Blood pressure lowering must be done at a rate appropriate for the patient's clinical condition.
