Roxatidine used in the management of peptic ulcer disease.
Indication of Roxatidine
Roxatidine is primarily indicated in conditions like GI ulceration, Hyperacidity, and can also be given in adjunctive therapy as an alternative drug of choice in Reflux oesophagitis.
Contraindication of Roxatidine
Roxatidine is contraindicated in conditions like Anuria.
Side Effects of Roxatidine
The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Roxatidine are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Dizziness, Headache, Diarrhea, Restlessness, Constipation, Skin rashes, Nausea and vomiting.
Precautions of Roxatidine
Roxitadine should be used with caution in patients with impaired kidney or liver function. Intravenous injection should be given slowly and intravenous infusion is recommended in patients with cardiovascular impairment.
