Phendimetrazine is a weight loss medication.It is chemically related to amphetamines. It is clinically in form of Phendimetrazine tartarate. Phendimetrazine tartarate is a central stimulant and indirect acting sympathomimetic with actions similar to those of dexamfetamine.
Indication of Phendimetrazine
Phendimetrazine is primarily indicated in conditions like Anorectal infections, Obesity, and can also be given in adjunctive therapy as an alternative drug of choice in Fatigue, Narcolepsy.
Contraindication of Phendimetrazine
Phendimetrazine is contraindicated in conditions like Hypersensitivity.
Side Effects of Phendimetrazine
The severe or irreversible adverse effects of Phendimetrazine, which give rise to further complications include Cardiac arrhythmias, Allergic reactions, Confusion, Irregular heart beat.,The signs and symptoms that are produced after the acute overdosage of Phendimetrazine include Convulsions, Coma, Seizures, Dry mouth, Confusion, Hallucinations, Tremor, Mydriasis, Restlessness, Aggression, Chest pain, Hyperflexia.,The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Phendimetrazine are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Dizziness, Fatigue, Restlessness, Insomnia, Nervousness, Blurred vision, Depression, Nausea and vomiting, nervousness.
Precautions of Phendimetrazine
Use with caution when driving,operating machinery. It may be habit forming. Do not take it late in the day as it may cause insomnia. It should not be used with other anorectics nor within a year of their use.
