Indication of Ferrous Fumarate
Ferrous Fumarate is primarily indicated in conditions like Diarrhoea, Heart burn, and can also be given in adjunctive therapy as an alternative drug of choice in Indigestion, Nausea and vomiting, Upset stomach.
Contraindication of Ferrous Fumarate
Ferrous Fumarate is contraindicated in conditions like Chickenpox infection,Influenza.
Side Effects of Ferrous Fumarate
The severe or irreversible adverse effects of Ferrous Fumarate, which give rise to further complications include Allergic reactions, Bleeding.,The signs and symptoms that are produced after the acute overdosage of Ferrous Fumarate include Nausea, Coma, Seizures, Fever, Abdominal cramps.,The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Ferrous Fumarate are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Drowsiness, Diarrhea, Constipation, Staining of teeth, Stomach upset.
Precautions of Ferrous Fumarate
Cautions should be taken in patients having ulcer,colitis as well as in allergic patients and pregnant mothers. These food should be avoided:cheese,egg,yogurt,spinach,tea,cereals. Dont take antacids and iron supplements together.
