Overview of Guanadrel

Guanadrel belongs to a class of antihypertensive used in the treatment of hypertension.It works by controlling nerve impulses and inhibit norepinephrine as a result relaxes the blood vessels so that blood passes through them easily hence lowering the blood pressure.

Indication of Guanadrel

Guanadrel is primarily indicated in conditions like Hypertension.

Contraindication of Guanadrel

Guanadrel is contraindicated in conditions like Asthma,Heart failure,Peptic ulcer,Stomatitis,Kidney disease.

Side Effects of Guanadrel

The severe or irreversible adverse effects of Guanadrel, which give rise to further complications include Allergy, Anxiety, Weight gain, Dizziness, Chest pain, Heart failure, Blurred vision, Constipation.,Guanadrel produces potentially life-threatening effects which include Heart failure. which are responsible for the discontinuation of Guanadrel therapy.,The signs and symptoms that are produced after the acute overdosage of Guanadrel include Blurred vision, Fainting, Syncope, Orthoststic hypotension.,The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Guanadrel are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Dizziness, Drowsiness, Fatigue, Diarrhea, Fever, Rashes, Nasal congestion, Orthostatic hypotension, Loss of appetite, Swelling of feet, dizziness.

Precautions of Guanadrel

Use caution when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. Guanadrel may cause dizziness or drowsiness.Patient should avoid sudden position changes to prevent orthoststic hypotension.
