Overview of Parecoxib
Parecoxib is an analgesic belongs to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Parecoxib is a prodrug of valdecoxib, used for the short-term treatment of acute post-operative pain.
Indication of Parecoxib
Parecoxib is primarily indicated in conditions like Short-term management of acute postoperative pain, Ulcerative colitis and crohn's disease.
Contraindication of Parecoxib
Parecoxib is contraindicated in conditions like Congestive heart failure,Lepromatous lepra reactions.
Side Effects of Parecoxib
The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Parecoxib are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Pruritus, Bradycardia, Hypotension, Hypokalemia, Respiratory insufficiency, Hypertension, Cerebrovascular disorders, Postoperative anemia, Back pain, Increased BUN, Hypoesthesia, Alveolar osteitis.
Precautions of Parecoxib
Dehydration; following coronary artery bypass graft surgery.
