Itopride Hcl is a substituted benzamide, which is used for its prokinetic and antiemetic properties. The actions, uses and adverse effects similar to that of metaclopramide.
Indication of Itopride Hcl
Itopride Hcl is primarily indicated in conditions like Dyspepsia, Gastro-esophageal reflux disease, Nausea and vomiting, and can also be given in adjunctive therapy as an alternative drug of choice in Anorexia, Heart burn.
Contraindication of Itopride Hcl
Itopride (HCl) is contraindicated in conditions like Gastrointestinal hemorrhage,Parkinson's disease,Hypersensitivity to any component of product.
Side Effects of Itopride Hcl
The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Itopride (HCl) are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Dizziness, Headache, Diarrhea, Constipation, Redness, Tremor, Thrombocytopenia, Leucopenia.
Precautions of Itopride Hcl
Itopride should be used with special caution in the young and the elderly. Little information is available at this time regarding the safe use of itopride during pregnancy.
