Overview of Acipimox
Acipimox is a lipid regulating drug, belongs to nicotinic acid group. It reduces blood lipid level by inhibiting the release of fatty acids from fat tissues. Acipimox is used for the treatment of hyperlipidaemias of type IIa, IIb and IV in patients not responded adequately to diet and other appropriate measures.

Acipimox is contraindicated in conditions like Peptic ulcer,Hypersensitivity.
Side Effects of Acipimox
Acipimox produces potentially life-threatening effects which include Bronchospasm, Bronchospasm, Anaphylactic reactions, Angioedema. which are responsible for the discontinuation of Acipimox therapy.,The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Acipimox are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Headache, Nausea, Diarrhea, Rashes, Urticaria, Itching, Malaise, Flushing, Heart burn, Epigastric pain, Dry eye.
Precautions of Acipimox
Avoid drinking alcohol during treatment with acipimox. If you buy any medicines, check with a pharmacist that they are safe to take with acipimox.
