Magnesium Carbonate is antacid. Magnesium Carbonate is a basic hydrated it containing the equivalent of 40 to 43.5 percent of magnesium oxide. It neutrilizes gastric acid and used in the treatment of peptic ulcer.
Indication of Magnesium Carbonate
Magnesium Carbonate is primarily indicated in conditions like Hyperacidity, Peptic ulcer.
Contraindication of Magnesium Carbonate
Magnesium Carbonate is contraindicated in conditions like Renal impairment.
Side Effects of Magnesium Carbonate
The severe or irreversible adverse effects of Magnesium Carbonate, which give rise to further complications include Nausea, Vomiting, Rashes, Muscular weakness, Itching, Hives.,The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Magnesium Carbonate are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Diarrhea, Constipation, Stomach upset.
Precautions of Magnesium Carbonate
Do not exceed prescribed dose because it will cause diarrhea.
